This page explains what Corn Fed Bogeys (cornfedbogeys.com) collects, why, and what you can do about it. We don't sell your information to anyone.

Browsing the site

You can read every course page, post and video without an account. When you visit:

The email list

If you sign up for new-post emails, we store your email address and send one email asking you to confirm. After that you get an email when we post a new course review or Course Crawl story. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.

Contact messages

When you use the contact form, we keep your name, email and message so we can reply, and we send you a short receipt. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam bots; it loads only once you start filling in the form.

Accounts

A free account stores your name, email, an optional Course Crawl name and profile picture, and a password we keep only as a scrambled hash (we can't read it). A cookie keeps you logged in until you log out. Your account also holds what you add: the courses you've played, your rounds and scores, and your photos.

On your Course Crawl settings you choose whether your Course Crawl page is public, whether your scores show, and whether your photos can appear on course pages. Comments on course pages show the name you give, after we approve them.

While you're logged in, we log the pages you open and the buttons you use on this site (never what you type), with your device type and rough location, to understand how members use it. We keep that log for a year.

Course Crawl photos

Phone photos carry hidden data, like the GPS spot where they were taken and the camera used. We remove all of it before any photo is shown on the site. We keep a private copy of that data for reviewing uploads; only the site admin can see it, and it's never published. Every photo is approved before it appears, and photos we turn down are deleted.

Course information you send

If you send a course correction or new course details, we keep what you sent along with the name and email you gave, so we can check it and follow up.

Stopping abuse

To stop spam and break-in attempts, we record the network (IP) address that log-ins, sign-ups, contact messages, comments and uploads come from, and use it only for those limits.
