Shell Creek Valley Golf Course is a 9-hole sand green course in Newman Grove, Nebraska. It is one of the few remaining sand green courses left in the state, which makes it a rare find for golfers chasing down Nebraska's old school tracks. As the name suggests, Shell Creek winds through the property and comes into play on some of the later holes. The greens are very small, as you would expect for a sand greens course. The grounds are well kept, with tidy mowing and a good mix of mature pines, spruces, and hardwoods framing the holes. Tee signs around the course are sponsored by local area businesses, a nice small-town touch. It bills itself as one of the most affordable courses in Nebraska, with a daily green fee of just five dollars for non-members and the course maintained by its membership. Non-members simply sign in before play.
